INFORMATION AND GUIDELINE FOR NATIONAL IDENTITY (NID) CARD APPLICATION

NID Application Process
Required Documents
Following documents must be submitted to the High Commission-
1. Printed copy of online filled up and submitted application [form 2 (KA)]
2. Special information form (if applicable). Additionally, if the applicants are from the Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar,Rangamati or Bandarban district, please fill up the special information form. Click here for the form
3. Valid Bangladeshi passport (original+photocopy)
4. 17 digit Bangladeshi Birth Certificate (original+photocopy) with online verified copy. Click here for online BRC verification.
5. Applicant must provide details of one representative who has an NID and lives in Bangladesh. The representative will be enquired of the applicant by the competent Filed Officer.
6. A recent passport size photo (attach photo with glue on the application form)
Additionally, if the applicants are from the Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Rangamati or Bandarban District, please fill up the Special Information Form.
Following documents can be asked from the applicants by the concerned Upazila Election Office in Bangladesh to complete the verification process-
1. Academic certificate (SSC/Equivalent Certificate/JSC/PSC)
2. Parents' NID (Death certificate where applicable)
3. Bangladeshi driving license, TIN (if applicable)
4. Marriage certificate and Spouse's NID (if applicable)
5. Nationality certificate (from Bangladeshi Councillor/Chairman/Mayor/CEO)
6. A copy of Bangladeshi Utility Bill
Other General Instructions
Processing time
Processing time for NID card may vary due to thorough verification procedures implemented by the concerned Upazila Election Office. These checks are carried out to confirm the authenticity of the information provided during the application process.
